Rockslide cleared on Highway 84 in Putnam County

By news admin

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A state highway has been reopened in Putnam County after a boulder, trees and power lines slid onto it.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Highway 84 is again open to traffic after the slide Monday evening near the Overton County line.

The road was not damaged, but crews had to remove debris before the road could be used. Both lanes had been shut down.

Rainstorms moved through Tennessee Monday, but it wasn't immediately known if weather caused the rockslide.
