Smokies artist in residence offers guided walk
GATLINBURG, Tenn. (AP) - The Great Smoky Mountain National Park's artist in residence is offering a guided "sound walk" on the Fighting Creek Nature Trail.
During the walk, Dominique Ferraton will discuss how sounds affect people and how people affect the landscape of sound that surrounds us.
According to the park, the walk is intended to help participants discover how the simple act of listening can deepen their experience of the environment.
The walk takes place Wednesday at 2 p.m., rain or shine, and is open to all ages.
Participants will meet in front of the Sugarlands Visitor Center.
Anyone interested in participating should RSVP by calling Park Volunteer Coordinator Christine Hoyer at 865-436-1265.
