Teacher Dismissed from Sex Allegations

By news admin

Rankin County School District officials say a Richland High School teacher accused of having sex with a student has been fired.
Richland Police Chief Russel James says 34-year-old Stacy Walker was arrested and charged with sexual battery. Walker's bond was set at $25,000 bond. Her case will now go to the Rankin County grand jury.
Walker is listed on the school website as an algebra teacher, the boys' head soccer coach and the girls' assistant soccer coach at Richland High School.
James said the school district became aware of the charges and alerted police. The teacher was fired Monday.
James said it appeared that the inappropriate relationship had been going on for some time.
It was not clear whether Walker has an attorney.
