Tenn. Man Going to Trial on KY Murder Charge
MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - A Tennessee man is headed to trial in the death of a woman who was run over by a van in Kentucky.
According to The Paducah Sun (http://bit.ly/10Ps5tw ), Calloway Circuit Court put the murder case against James Paul Cook on the fall term calendar or September or October trial. Commonwealth's Attorney Mark Blankenship told the court Monday that Cook turned down a plea agreement that would have precluded trial.
Cook is charged with murder and DUI in the Oct. 4, 2012, death of 37-year-old Desiree Moore of Puryear, Tenn. Cook is from McLemoresville (MAK'-leh-morz-vil), Tenn.
Investigators said Cook and Moore argued in a van that was parked in a driveway in eastern Calloway County. Police said when Moore got out, she was run over twice by the vehicle, killing her.
