MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - A Tennessee man charged with killing a woman in western Kentucky has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The Murray Ledger & Times reported (http://bit.ly/1ghML52 ) that Calloway Circuit Judge Dennis Foust handed down the sentence on Monday to 56-year-old James Paul Cook of McLemoresville, Tenn.

Cook was originally charged with wanton murder in the death of 37-year-old Desiree Moore of Puryear, Tenn., but he entered an Alford plea in November to a charge of manslaughter.

Police said he ran over Moore twice with a van he was driving on Oct. 4, 2012.

Cook said in an offender statement that he ran over Moore by accident.
