Three Charged with Murder

Three men have been charged with murder after the remains of a man were found in Frankfort over the weekend.
Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton says that 31-year-old Joshua Hammond of Owenton, 44-year-old David Bruce of Owenton and 35-year-old James Simons of Corinth were charged with killing 30-year-old Charles Monroe. Police found Monroe's body Sunday on the side of the ramp from U.S. 127 to eastbound I-64.
The men also face charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence.
Hammond is the son of Owen County Sheriff Zemer Hammond. Bruce is the brother of Owen County Jailer Cindy Walker.
The three defendants were in the Franklin County Regional Jail in lieu of $200,000 cash bond each.
