Trial Set in MS Bribery Case

By news admin

The trial of three former Jackson police officers charged with accepting bribes is now scheduled for Aug. 7 in federal court in Jackson.
The officers, Monyette Quintel Jefferson, Terence Dale Jenkins and Anthony Ricardo Payne, were arraigned in March. Their trial had been set for Wednesday.
Court records show prosecutors and defense attorneys agreed to the new court date.
The three are accused of accepting bribes to provide protection for men they thought were drug dealers. The men were FBI agents posing as drug traffickers.
All three have pleaded not guilty.
