MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say two teens who went missing while fishing on the Loosahatchie River in Shelby County have been found alive.
Shelby County sheriff's office spokesman Chip Washington says 16-year-old Brandon Denge and 17-year-old Landon Cross were found Tuesday morning about 3 1/2 miles from where they launched their boat Monday afternoon.
Washington says a wildlife officer in a kayak found the boys on the
riverbank and they appeared to be safe.
The teens went fishing at about 3 p.m. Monday and were reported missing after they did not return.
Rescuers found their vehicle and their capsized boat before finding the teens. Washington says the teens boys managed to grab a tree branch and pull themselves onto the riverbank after their boat capsized.
