Vacant Knoxville Lot Site for New Habitat Homes

news admin

Hundreds of volunteers are helping turn a vacant lot in Knoxville into a new community.
WVLT-TV reports the local Habitat for Humanity is sponsoring a "blitz" to build six new homes for low-income families.
The homes are set to be dedicated on Saturday after nearly 1,400 hours of work. The families who are buying the new homes will work alongside volunteers from churches, law firms and other groups to help make that happen.
Long-time volunteer Mike McClanahan told the station he is glad to be helping form a new community.
