Wife sentenced for role in inmate's escape
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A woman who helped her husband escape from a minimum-security prison in Millington has been sentenced to 20 months in prison.
The Commercial Appeal (http://bit.ly/14bic85 ) reports that Katrina Banks received the federal prison sentence Thursday.
According to an indictment, Banks gave her husband, Rodney Black, the alcohol that he used to bribe someone at the prison to help him escape.
Last October, Banks and Black's son drove to a designated location near the prison and picked up Black, who was hiding in the woods.
The couple were soon found by authorities in a motel in Marion, Ark.
Black was serving a 51-month sentence for filing false tax returns when he escaped. He has pleaded guilty to escape charges and two years have been added to his sentence.
