US marshals searching for Memphis murder suspect

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The U.S. Marshals Service is asking for the public's help in the search for a Memphis man wanted on murder charges in the death of his girlfriend nearly eight years ago.

The agency said Thursday that it is looking for 49-year-old Robert Lee King. King is accused of killing Dorothy Smith and attempting to kill her 20-year-old daughter on Dec. 1, 2005.

King was added to the marshals' list of 15 most wanted fugitives in May 2009. A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest.

Anyone with information about King is asked to contact the marshals' 24-hour hotline at (800) 366-0102. His wanted poster can be found at http://www.usmarshals.gov/investigations/most_wanted/king/king15.pdf .
