EAST JACKSON -- This week's freezing temperatures prompted an increase of animals that were dropped of at the Jackson-Madison County Humane Society.

Currently, the organization has 62 cats, 37 dogs and even a duck up for adoption.

"Due to the weather we are having an increase," Kim Lewis, with the Humane Society said. "No one wants to see the animals outside, so anyone needing a pet or a friend a companion please come in and adopt."

The Humane Society is located at 23 Pinnacle Drive Jackson, TN 38301. Call them at (731) 422-5366.
