More than 70 special needs athletes participated in the early Saturday morning basketball tournament.
Special Needs Athletics held the tournament for athletes starting at just 4 years of age and on up.

It is the organization's second year hosting the basketball tournament at the West Jackson Baptist Church.
Organizers said the teams welcome new additions all through out the year. They said their goal is to provide a safe space for athletes to grow, learn, and play.

"They are truly talented athletes. They have a tremendous athletic ability. This is something for them to do and have fun," said President of SNA Michael Richerson.

The non profit organization also provides bowling, baseball, soccer, and cheer-leading teams for special needs athletes.
