HENDERSON, Tenn. - In 2012, the Chester County Eagles football team experienced their greatest season in school history. Despite the great season they still finished second in District 14-AA. But the one big difference from past seasons was the man walking the sidelines.

"I've gotten used to it and they have gotten used to me," second year Head Coach Michael Hodum said. "A wonderful first season."

Last year they won 10 games for their new coach and made a deep run into the playoffs. This year only four starters return.

"We have a lot of kids that played special teams but none has seen playing time except those four kids," Hodum said.

The big question for Chester County this season is about leadership. Austin Cavaness and Cameron Phelps are now gone. So who will step up for the Eagles?

"You lose and gain kids," Hodum said. "When someone graduates someone steps up. Its just like life and a great lesson for these kids. Its time for someone else to lead."

They know that riding off of last year's success won't cut it in 2012. Its now up to this years players to see how far they can go.

"These kids have to get together and make their minds up," Hodum said. "This is what we do and accomplish and can accomplish. Nothing we say as coaches can do that like them talking to each other and saying we want this."
