ETSU to relaunch program against Kennesaw State
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) - East Tennessee State will relaunch its football program with a 2015 matchup against Kennesaw State in that school's inaugural game.
The two schools made a joint announcement Thursday and revealed plans to face off Sept. 3, 2015. The game will take place at Kermit Tipton Stadium/Steve Spurrier Field on the campus of Science Hill High School in Johnson City.
East Tennessee State had an 80-year football tradition before shutting down its program for financial reasons in 2003. In April, the school announced plans to resume the sport and hired former North Carolina coach Carl Torbush as its coach in June.
Kennesaw State has hired former Georgia Tech assistant Brian Bohannon as its coach.
