BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (AP) - A member of the Detroit Lions "Fearsome Foursome" defensive line in the 1950s and 1960s has died. Darris McCord was 80.

The team says McCord died Wednesday in his home in Bloomfield Hills, north of Detroit.

The team doesn't give a cause of death, but the Detroit Free Press reports McCord was diagnosed in March with pancreatic cancer.

McCord spent his entire 13-year NFL career with the Lions after the club picked the University of Tennessee All-American in the third round of the 1955 draft.

He had three interceptions and nine recovered fumbles in 168 games, mostly as a defensive end.

He was a member of Detroit's 1957 NFL championship team and played in the 1958 Pro Bowl.
