Generals Fall in Season Opener

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jackson Generals opened their 16th season on the road in Jacksonville, Fla., Thursday. It was not the start they wanted.

Jacksonville starter Brian Flynn tossed six scoreless innings striking out nine, leading the Suns to a 5-3 win over the Generals.

Jackson starter Taijuan Walker struck out eight on the night, but allowed four runs on five hits in five innings. Walker struck out eight and walked four.

The Generals and Suns play game two of the 5-game set Friday night.

The Generals will host the annual FanFest on Tuesday, April 9, at 5:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Jackson’s home opener will be on Wednesday, April 10, against the Montgomery Biscuits, at 7:05 p.m.
