Hicks Takes Over as Lexington Boys' Basketball Coach
JACKSON, Tenn. - In just less than a month after Lexington Head Coach Roy Grant announced his retirement, the Tigers have found their new floor general.
Andrew Hicks joins Lexington after previously serving as an assistant at Humboldt.
"I knew a lot of very successful coaches were interested and I am extremely blessed and grateful for the opportunity Mr. Lindsey and his staff have given me," said Hicks.
While at Humboldt, Hicks helped coach the Vikings to the 2013 Class A State Championship.
The first year head coach believes his experiences learned alongside retired Humboldt coach Thomas Boykin have prepared him for this opportunity.
"Anytime you are able to be involved with a program that has sustained winning on a consistent basis, you pick up on qualities that only those teams possess," explained Hicks. " I was very blessed to be able to be around such a great group of kids, who were not just talented, but overall good kids."
