Good faith embodied by the winless Pioneers

DYER, Tenn. - Gibson County's high school football program went through a rough transition under first year head coach Morgan Cruce.

A 0-10 record to be exact.

Unfortunately for the Pioneers, they are following the same path this season.

"It's been a pretty rough couple of three games," said Cruce. "We haven't been competing like we should or playing to our full potential."

Gibson Co.'s 0-3 record at this point in the season stems from the team's youth and inexperience. But that's no excuse for Cruce, who believes the team will learn from their early mistakes.

"Sometimes we don't execute like we should. Life throws you curve balls," explained the second year head coach.

The next opponent on the list for the Pioneers is Halls High School, who won in last year's season opener.

Despite their record, there is a good vibe being expressed in the Pioneers locker room.

"The moral is still high. We have a lot of hope and promise for the future," said Cruce.
