Lady Bruins advance to sub-state

JACKSON, Tenn. - The Lady Bruins are one step closer to their third straight state championship.

Thanks to a 3-1 victory over St. George in the Division 2-A West Region Championship, University School of Jackson set up a sub-state match against Franklin Road Academy.

"If we continue to play like that, I think we have a few more games in us," said head coach Paul Conway. "Sometimes they don't have to be the prettiest, but they all count."

Contributing big for USJ in the championship was forward Abbey Flemming. The freshman collected her second straight hat trick.

"Our girl's concentration has been very good. All the credit to them," said Conway.

USJ plays Franklin Road Academy on Saturday at noon.
