The Seattle Mariners have seen enough. The Mariners have decided to move pitcher Danny Hultzen out west. Wednesday the Mariners promoted Hultzen from Double-A Jackson to Seattle's Triple-A club, the Tacoma Rainiers. But they didn't stop there. The Mariners have also taken Jackson’s All-Star shortstop Nick Franklin. Franklin led the Southern League this season with a .394 batting average. Meanwhile, Hultzen led the league with 8 victories. The former ACC pitcher of the year had 79 strikeouts for the Generals this season. Generals fans knew this day would arrive. There was speculation that Hultzen would be promoted before the Southern League All-Star break. Danny has kept a level head throughout the process. “The main thing is to not get ahead of yourself,” Hultzen said, following his last start in Jackson. “You got to work today in order to get there and I think that’s the kind of attitude that we all bring,” Hultzen said. “You can’t look far ahead in the future like that unless you’re working on your craft now.”
