Memphis' 2014 schedule includes many early tests
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis has released its 2014 football schedule, which includes five consecutive early season games against teams that reached bowls last season. After opening the season Aug. 30 by hosting Austin Peay, Memphis plays at Sun Bowl champion UCLA on Sept. 6. The Tigers have the next week off before facing Armed Forces Bowl participant Middle Tennessee, Music City Bowl champion Mississippi, Belk Bowl participant Cincinnati and Compass Bowl participant Houston on consecutive weekends. The schedule includes a home game with Tulsa on Halloween. Home opponents include Austin Peay (Aug. 30), Middle Tennessee (Sept. 20), Houston (Oct. 11), Tulsa (Oct. 31), USF (Nov. 22) and Connecticut (Nov. 29). The road schedule includes UCLA (Sept. 6), Mississippi (Sept. 27), Cincinnati (Oct. 4), SMU (Oct. 25), Temple (Nov. 8) and Tulane (Nov. 15).
