Munchak says Shonn Greene has right knee surgery

By news admin

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak says running back Shonn Greene has had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

Munchak announced Tuesday night on his weekly radio show that Greene had surgery Monday.

Greene hurt his knee in the 16-9 opening win at Pittsburgh. Munchak says Greene was able to run last week, got treatment and thought he would play Sunday against San Diego.

Munchak says Greene will be on a week-to-week basis and that the Titans should have the running back strong for the rest of the season.

The Titans signed Greene to a three-year contract in March to provide a power complement for Chris Johnson. Greene has four carries for 18 yards.
