JACKSON, Tenn.- Some high school students in West Tennessee got to do a little more than practice Friday.

Jackson Christian and Halls lined up against each other in a scrimmage on the gridiron Friday afternoon.

The football season has not started just yet but coaches said scrimmages like this give them a really good idea of what they need to work on as a team.

"The way we've been approaching the scrimmage is more like an extended practice against somebody else, gives us a different look, a chance to hit on other people and see where we're at as a team," said
Brian Bullard, Defensive Line Coach at Jackson Christian.

Jackson Central-Merry and Munford also scrimmaged earlier in the day. High school football kicks off with the jamboree on Friday, August 15.
