Cayla Sheets Signs to Play Basketball At Bethel Univ.

Jackson, Tenn. –Calling her a Point Guards "Points Guard "Bethel Head Coach Chris Nelson was ecstatic with the signing of 15 A All-District and 7A All -Region Madison Academic performer Cayla Sheets Wednesday in a ceremony at the school in Jackson. Sheets is the daughter of Cory Sheets of Jackson and is undecided on her major.
Cayla was named as an all-district and all-region all four years at Madison. She was named the MVP of the region her junior and seniors seasons, and helped lead Madison to the state tournament were she also named to the all-state tournament squad. Sheets averaged 12 point, over six assists, and four steals per game during her career with the Lady Mustangs.
She feels her strengths are her leadership skills and her passion for the game. She chose Bethel because of the great environment, great program, the coaching staff, and feels Bethel has the potential to win a national title. She considered several other schools but Bethel was the best fit for her game and education.
Madison Coach Steve Patterson said, "I have coached a lot of talented young ladies and Cayla is just that but she is at the top of the list with how passionate she is about the game. We are all excited she has chosen Coach Nelson's program and we look forward to seeing her play for the Lady Wildcats."
Coach Nelson elaborated on the signing, "We are so excited to have Cayla join our program. Our staff has been recruiting her since her freshman year. She is a Point Guards "Points Guard", and she understands the game as well as any player we have seen. Her passion and ability to do all the little things on and off the court are rare things to see this day and age." Nelson added, "I am personally thrilled to finally sign one of Coach Patterson's players because he not only prepares his players for games, but even more importantly for life."
