Entering his fourth season in Dyersburg, Trojans’ head coach Bart Stowe is excited about the future.

"We have good young men. They’re pretty affluent about what were going to do offensively, defensively and with special teams," said Stowe.

The Trojans aim to improve on last year’s campaign - which was their best season under Coach Stowe.

"We really got things going last year. We were 8-2 and made the playoffs. We want to use last year as a spring board to keep thing going in the right direction," said Stowe.

There may be pressure on Stowe to strike while the iron is hot as Dyersburg doesn't have to play district juggernaut Milan. The district coaches held a blind draw to determine sub-districts or pods. As a result, teams in 13-AA are only obligated to play 6 of their 9 district opponents.

“Luck of the draw,” Stowe said when asked about not playing Milan.

“We have a tough schedule with or without Milan in there," said Stowe.

New pods will be drawn this winter.

All games are important, but the one game Dyersburg players will likely highlight on their schedule is the Covington game. The Chargers beat the Trojans last year in the regular season and in the playoffs.

"We open up with Fayette Ware and the next week we play Covington,” said Stowe.

“They beat us twice last year and they have a lot of talented guys back. It will be a good test for us early," Stowe said.
