General Fall to Suns in Second Game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- The Jackson Generals started off strong in game two of the season against the Jacksonville Suns but could maintain their lead. The Generals fell to the Suns 5-3.
The Jacksonville Suns erased a 3-0 deficit in the bottom of the eighth inning by scoring five runs for the win.
Jackson starter Roenis Elias (6.0,0,0,2,7) settled for a no decision after tossing six no-hit innings and 76 pitches.
Jackson jumped ahead 2-0 in the top of third after Leon Landry (1x5, R) circled the bases on a four-base error by Suns centerfielder Michael Main. Abraham Almonte (0x4, R, BB) also scored on the play.
Brad Miller (3x5, 3B, R) tripled in the top of the fifth inning and with one out, the next batter, Vinnie Catricala scored him on a sacrifice fly giving Jackson a 3-0 advantage.
The wheels came off for Jackson after Elias left the game. The Suns broke up Jackson’s no hitter in the bottom of the seventh inning, with one out, on a double by Kyle Jensen off of Jonathan Arias (1.1,2,2,2,1,3).
The Generals and Suns play game three of the 5-game set Saturday night at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, with first pitch at 6:05 CDT. RHP Hector Noesi (0-0, --) makes the start for Jackson against RHP Adam Conley (0-0,--) for Jacksonville.
