Haywood ready for Friday the 13th

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. - Head coach Ernie Jackson is no stranger to Haywood football.

But this year the head coach adjusts to different surroundings. The Former Haywood County Middle School coach transitions to the role of Haywood High School's head coach.

"I'm laying the foundation on them. They've accepted it and rose to the occasion," said coach Jackson. "They're a very mature group of kids."

That accountability factor by Haywood has been expressed several times throughout the early season.

"The first thing said after last week's loss by my players is that we as a team lost," explained Jackson.

Although the Tomcats are coming off a 39-8 loss to Liberty, coach Jackson is confident that his unit will erase Week 2's defeat.

"They're focused and ready and wish it was Friday night today," said Jackson.

Haywood takes the field this Friday at home against Crockett County.
