Jackson-Christian gears up for Week 0

Jackson, Tenn. - The years may change, but the script remains the same for Jackson Christian. The Eagles' main goal is competing for the district championship.

Although no games have been accounted for, JCS' season got off to a rough start last Friday in South Side's Jamboree.

"We made a few key mistakes that cost us the game," said head Coach Matt Underwood. "Overall I was pleased with our effort and our discipline."

The Eagles were held off 14-7 against South Side in last week's matchup. The game certainly served as a good measuring stick for coach Underwood, who plans on using it as fuel for their season opener.

"For us we looked at it as practice game getting us ready for this week. We feel really good about this week," explained Underwood.

There's an overall positive vibe on the Eagles practice field. They return a great amount of experience and are striving towards having a special season.

"Everything we do is with character and class. This will be the identity will live by," said Underwood.

The Eagles open up the season on the road against First Assembly Christian.
