Jackson Generals Defeat Montgomery Biscuits
JACKSON, Tenn. - The Jackson Generals split a double-header yesterday with a 4-5 loss in game one, and a 4-2 win in game two. Today they looked to win the rubber match.
Chance Ruffin, who was a relief pitcher for the Seattle Mariners, took the hill today as the starter. Ruffin is trying to work his way back to the majors, but this time as a starting pitcher.
WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News spoke with Ruffin about the adjustments he has had to make on his journey back to the big leagues.
"It's a whole different position as far as I'm concerned," said Ruffin. " Some guys are better are relievers. Some guys are better as starters. So it's a learning process for me and something where I'm trying to take as much advice as I can and learn as I go."
The Generals took a 9-6 lead into the 9th inning. But the Biscuits scored three runs in the top of the frame, sending the game into extra innings.
The Generals would go on to win 10-9 as they added a run in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Abraham Almonte hit the game winning single. Forrest Snow got the win.
