Red Rage Ready for District Rival TCA

ADAMSVILLE, Tenn. - In Week 2, a burgeoning rivalry adds a new chapter.

"It's a district game like all the rest of them. They're a good team; we're a good team. I think it'll be a physical game," said Adamsville junior Seth Paul.

Both Adamsville and TCA are ranked among the top five in the state in Class 2A.

"It don't mean anything. We just want to be ready to play ball in November and hopefully get the chance to play in December,"said Cardinals head coach Brandon Gray.

In a cold November, last year the 'Red Rage' defeated the Lions to earn a trip to Cookeville.

Adamsville believes they may have to do that again this year.

"I figure we'll see each other twice either way," said Gray.

For now, the Cardinals are taking it one game at a time. Their defense accepts the challenge of stopping TCA's potent offense.

"Keep the ball out of their hands and make sure we know our assignments on defense," said linebacker Chris Bernier.

Fans are in store for another classic battle between TCA and Adamsville on Friday.

Coach Gray embraces the matchup every year.

"I'm ready for Kyle Akin to graduate. Other than that, it's turning into a good rivalry. We look forward to Friday night," explained Gray.
