ETSU signs junior-college forward Forrest
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) - East Tennessee State has added junior-college forward Darius Forrest to its frontcourt.
Forrest, who is 6-foot-6 and 190 pounds, averaged 13 points and six rebounds per game for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College last season. East Tennessee State announced Thursday that he had signed with the Buccaneers.
East Tennessee State coach Murry Bartow said in a release that "we really like what he can do on both ends of the floor." Mississippi Gulf Coast coach Wendell Weathers said "he plays hard and is always doing the little things that are the key to winning basketball games, but what most people will be impressed by are his instincts."
Forrest joins a recruiting class that already included guard Devin Harris, swingman A.J. Merriweather, swingman Maurice O'Field and guard Jaylen Riley.
