01/03/10 - Madison County
Poor free throw shooting
hurt the Lane College
Dragons in their 55-54
loss to Kentucky State
on Saturday.
Lane led 33-29 at
halftime, despite
hitting just one of
eight three-pointers.
The second half was
close, but a six for 16
performance from the
free-throw line for Lane
compared to 12 for 18
for KSU hurt the Dragons
in the end.
Rodney Chatman led all
scorers with 14 points,
and Nick Beauregard
added 12 to go with nine
rebounds for Lane. Tony
Johnson paced Kentucky
state with a
double-double, 13 points
and 16 rebounds.
The win is KSU's first
on the season, and Lane
drops to 3-2. Next up
for the Dragons is a
Southern Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference
matchup on the road with
Albany State.
