School Secretary Jailed
A public school secretary charged with sex crimes against a 15-year-old boy has been sent to jail after contacting him on a social networking site.
Lynda Chase was jailed on Monday for violating terms of her release, according to the Richmond Register. She had been free on her own recognizance since her Feb. 16 arrest on rape and sodomy charges.
During a hearing in Madison County Circuit Court, Chase’s attorney acknowledged his client had sent a message to the boy through Facebook. He said he thinks his client was trying to apologize to the boy, but the assistant commonwealth’s attorney demanded incarceration because Chase had been told not to contact anyone under 16.
Chase is a secretary at Madison Central High School. She remained in jail Tuesday morning.
