Cookeville Opens Neighborhoods To B&B’s
Cookeville planners have voted to allow bed and breakfast establishments in most residential neighborhoods.
The matter now goes to the Cookeville City Council for final approval.
Under the minimum requirements, B&Bs would be allowed in a majority of single-family zones where such private inns are now banned.
According to the Cookeville Herald-Citizen, supporters of the matter said the inns could add charm to Cookeville and attract tourists.
The planning commission had studied the issue for several weeks, and the Cookeville Planning Department had reviewed similar regulations in several cities across the state.
