Rains Help Extinguish Paris Landing Fire
Monday’s line of storms did help one part of West Tennessee: The Cyprus Road area of Paris Landing. For much of Sunday afternoon and evening, firefighters battled a fire in a heavily wooded neighborhood that borders Paris Landing State Park. Even though the fire did not enter onto park property, it did threaten several homes, even causing damage to an out-building. At least two firefighters did suffer from exhaustion, officials say. No homes were destroyed, and the fire was brought under control by the early evening hours. Monday’s rains did help to extinguish several hard to reach hotspots, homeowners say.
