Storm Damage in Henry County

Areas north and to the east of Jackson were not spared the wrath of Tuesday night’s storms. In Henry County, about 12,000 customers were without power for much of the night, Tuesday. Massive trees came tumbling down, including one on a home just outside of Paris. “I headed to the basement due to the wind. 15 minutes later, here come the tree right on the house where we would’ve been sleeping,” said Steve Henry a storm victim. Utility officials said help from as far away as Alabama was called to repair substations and utility poles. Officials said they hope to restore power to the entire county by the end of Thursday night.
