Good Friday Holy Week Services
On this Good Friday, Christians from around the area gathered for the fifth day of community services commemorating Holy Week. Friday’s service was held at First Presbyterian Church and ends a week of daily service at churches throughout Jackson. Holy Week is observed the last week of Lent, in the days proceeding Easter and focuses on the last days of Jesus Christ’s life, leading up to his crucifixion. “You can’t have a resurrection without a crucifixion. The crucifixion is of great importance as well,” said Pastor John White of First Presbyterian Church, Jackson. The Holy Week services were organized by the Jackson Area Ministerial Alliance.
