Major Flooding in McNairy County

As the rain continues to pour down across West Tennessee, road crews are hard at work doing what they can do make conditions somewhat manageable for residents. “We’ve got twenty three roads that are closed right now, obviously we’re stretched to our limits trying to keep people off those roads” said Sheriff Guy Buck of McNairy County. A road completely collapsed on Rose Creek Road. Jeff Linam said he’s lived in the area for more than 15 years and has never seen anything like the incident. “We had it coming on top of the road before, I mean this has been four feet deep ….and it’s never done this,” said Linam. Selmer City Park was nearly covered in water. “I came to McDonald’s to get something to eat … you can see the yellow on the fence at the ball field, it was up to the yellow part on the fence,” said Chuck Bodiford, a Selmer resident. Bodiford said the park floods during very heavy rains.
