Authorities Trained In Domestic Investigations
Each year, many West Tennesseans find themselves a victim of sexual and domestic abuse. Friday, law enforcement along with leaders in the legal and medical communities met for a training session called. “Prosecuting Sexual Assault Cases,” and discussed how to handle these types of abuse. Organizers said the West Tennessee area is very fortunate because of an already strong response and support group for women who are victims of abuse. “Well, we were invited here by a community that’s really interested in improving the response to sexual abuse and domestic violence in their community, said “Jeff Greipp, an attorney advisor for Aequitas, the group that presented the workshop. “And so what we’re achieving by working with them is greater collaboration and greater appreciation for how to improve their individual response and collective response as well.” This workshop and training session was sponsored by the Jackson Police Department.
