School Board Discusses Interim Superintendent

During a work session Monday night, members of the Jackson-Madison County School Board discussed who will take over June 30 when the current superintendent steps down. Board members said, according to law, someone must be appointed as head of the system, even if the permanent replacement has not been named. No vote was taken Monday evening, but leaders say that interim candidates could be named, and possibly voted on Thursday.
