Strawberry Festival Opening Ceremonies
Maybe the most anticipated festival in all of West Tennessee is officially underway. Not even the rain could squelch the kick off of the 74th Annual West Tennessee Strawberry Festival, Monday evening. The rain did force the kick off to be moved from the football field at Humboldt High School to the gymnasium. In all, the festival features 35 queens and princesses and all the tradition West Tennessee has come to expect. “It certainly is a small town atmosphere where any visitor that comes is welcome to enjoy any of the activities,” said Alex Smith, President of this year’s festival. Since opening ceremonies were moved inside, the fireworks show had to be rescheduled. The fireworks will now take place Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. at the Humboldt High School football field.
