Foote Prepares to Serve

One of Jackson’s newly elected city council members is planning to change the way the rest of the community views her district. As the only woman to serve on the council in the upcoming fiscal year, Vicky Foote says many of her constituents feel that South Jackson is often overlooked and the last to get what they need. She believes that by pushing for infrastructure improvements in district one, more business and tourism will come to the area. “We have road conditions which are deplorable, we have water drainage problems. The bridge on Herron Grove Road unfortunately, that’s been out for over a year. When I looked at all of these things I thought maybe, maybe I can be the voice that my people need out here.” Foote will be sworn in along with Scott Conger and Johnny Dodd to the Jackson City Council in July.
