TN Trooper Fired On

Police in Chattanooga say a state trooper’s car was struck by a bullet.

Tennessee Highway Patrol officer Robert Gordon was working an overtime assignment Saturday night on Interstate 24 near the 4th Avenue exit when he heard a loud bang.

Investigators from the Chattanooga Police Department say Gordon was sitting in the patrol car when he realized the passenger side window and the front window had shattered.

Gordon wasn’t injured, but was examined by medical personnel because of the amount of shattered glass.

It wasn’t clear who fired the shot or if it was intended for the trooper
