Emergency management technicians with West Tennessee Healthcare showed their thanks to fellow first responders, while educating the public. In honor of National EMS Week, the group hosted a cook-out, Thursday to show their appreciation to fellow EMTs, paramedics, firefighters and police who serve across the West Tennessee area. Service vehicles and equipment used by first responders were also on display. Also, those who attended could also take a flight in a medical helicopter simulator, courtesy of Hospital Wing. Organizers tell us this week is about more than providing a service. “It’s so much more than just helping others. It’s the gratification of knowing that we have made a difference,” said Mark Walker with EMS. Thursday’s EMS Week celebration was held at Forest Cove station in west Jackson.
