Jackson-Madison County school leaders said they are interested in Lambuth’s campus. Board members have scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday night to discuss the possibility of acquiring the football field, baseball field and other athletic facilities on the campus the help prep athletic departments including Madison Academic and Jackson Central-Merry High Schools. ABC 7 Eyewitness News spoke with school board chairman Bob Alvey about the possibilities. “It sounds like the options that are being considered for the Lambuth campus really only involve the academic buildings, so the school board was just interested in kind of getting more information about what those athletic facilities could potentially be used for that might benefit the school district,” said Bob Alvey, chairman of the Jackson-Madison County School Board. Alvey said this is a vote to inquire about the measure and would only be possible if the stakeholders acquire the campus and turn it over to the University of Memphis.
