Director of Ripley Housing Authority Indicted on Federal Charges
The former executive director of the Ripley Housing Authority has been indicted on federal embezzlement and money laundering charges. David Royce Ford was indicted on four counts. Prosecutors said after he began working as executive director on January 4, 2009, he used more that $50,000 in housing authority money for personal use, including almost $20,000 spent at a motorcycle company and almost $34,000 for a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Ford faces up to 40 years in prison and $1 million in fines.
