Generals Help North Division To 6-3 Win in Southern League All-Star Game

The North Division earned a 7th straight victory in the Southern League All-Star series with a 6-3 win over the South Division at Pringles Park in Jackson on Tuesday. Chattanooga All-Star slugger Scott Van Slyke was named MVP with a two run – one RBI performance. Jackson‘s Andrew Carraway earned the win. Carraway pitched one inning and struck out one batter. No pitcher appeared on the mound for more than one inning. Paul Goldschmidt, the minor league leader in home runs, began the scoring with a two-run homer off Jarrett Grube. The Southern League resumes action on Thursday with the start of the second half of the season. Jackson travels to Montgomery for a five-game series. The Generals return home Tuesday, June 28 to host Chattanooga.
