Grube Gets The Call

The Jackson Generals have made the following roster moves prior to Wednesday night‘s 7:05 opener against the Chattanooga Lookouts at Pringles Park. INF Nick Franklin has been placed on the 7-Day disabled list and INF Leury Bonilla has been transferred to Jackson from Triple-A Tacoma. RHP Jarrett Grube has been promoted to Triple-A Tacoma and RHP Steven Hensley has been reinstated from the 7-Day DL. Franklin, 20, suffered an injury prior to Monday night‘s game against the Montgomery Biscuits. Franklin was off to a 9-for-15 (.600) start with the Generals with a homerun and 3 RBI‘s. Franklin is rated by Baseball America as the #3 prospect in the Seattle Mariners organization. Bonilla, 26, returns to Jackson for the first time in 2011. Bonilla played in 24 games for the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers (15×73, .205/0/5), Bonilla started 14 games in outfield, 5 at shortstop, 3 at second base and 1 at third base. Bonilla made national news last year appearing in all 9 position in one game on Sept. 5 vs. Chattanooga (1×3, R, HR, 2 RBI, 1.0,1,0,0,0,1). Grube, 29, has been promoted to Triple-A Tacoma. Grube, the Southern League North All-Star starting pitcher was 5-2, with a 3.11 ERA in 14 starts this season. Grube was leading the team with 69 strikeouts and second on the team with 84 innings pitched. Hensley, 24, was placed on the 7-Day DL on May 7th with a lower back strain. Hensley missed 44 games. In 5 starts this season, Hensley is 0-3, with a 3.65 ERA. Hensley is pegged to start game two of the double-header today.
