Church Collecting School Supplies
The Jackson-Madison County school year is just a few days away and Friday members of Journey Church literally went to new heights for school supply donations. The church’s lead pastor, Jeremy Brown was hoisted several stories into the air, via cherry picker in the parking lot of Bob’s House of Honda on Vann Drive. The church filled 600 backpacks with supplies for children at Andrew Jackson Elementary School. We spoke with church leaders on the importance of this event. “Really, it’s about us motivating the community to band together to meet a need, said Jeremy Brown, lead pastor of Journey Church. “We as a church have a passion not only to meet the need, but to partner with our community to do that.” Monetary donations of $12 were also taken, which filled one backpack with all the supplies a child would need.
